While in daily use, I see this app use more than 700 megabytes of RAM routinely. When viewed from a web browser, which is typically more up to date, responsive and full featured the memory hit is less than 100MB.Your common development environment may make things nice for your developers, but it exacts a heavy price on the hardware of your users. There is zero justification for this level of resource use for what the app does. And now it gets worse, mangling statuses and post when you edit them, not allowing linefeeds in post text, etc.The web site work better and more reliably, this app is a waste of storage More. Update: The app sometimes opens without crashing from the notifications, but another issue stems from playing videos. I was tagged in a YouTube video, so whenever I try to play it, the video starts, and then crashes. I will just go back to using it on my preferred browser on my desktop.I installed the latest version, but whenever I try to open the app from a notification it crashes. It also crashes when it is opened from the start menu.
The performance is less when compared to the website, which defeats one of the purposes of having an app. Another problem is that the app should have feature parity with the web site. It acts as an deterrent when there is a gap in features.
.wow, is this app ever a kludge. It takes FOREVER to launch, doesn't stay running in the background if you back-button out of it (just like the latest Messenger), scrolling and typing is laggy, autocorrect often fails to engage, it's filled with ridiculous sound effects you can't turn off, there's no way to filter events you're not attending out of Outlook Calendar, contact sync occasionally breaks and links have to be manually reestablished in People, links to addresses open the mobile HERE Maps website instead of the Maps app, photo uploads are limited to your camera roll folder. But at least it's here!
And we have.reactions! Unstable, many features not available, and feed is inconsistent. I use it on my Surface Pro 3 and it's just not enjoyable to use. I end up using my android phone which isn't ideal when I want to download a file from a group I belong to. But, since this feature isn't available on the windows version, I'm stuck. I would have thought windows 10 Facebook would be top notch.
